Great Bag For Money August 15, 2010 James D. Haley (San Diego) I bought this Intech golf bag with a few expectations - first, I expected to get a moderately good bag at a great price. Great success! Similar to the Intech golf balls which you can find on Amazon, this bag gets the job done at an affordable price. As someone that does not claim to be a scratch golfer, this is very appealing. Also, I'm not too concerned with the name brands out there in the industry - this simple black bag with one Intech logo let's the baggage handlers know "Hey, this guy probably has clubs that I don't want to steal within this bag, therefore we'll just throw it on the plane and not worry about shuffling through it". The next expectation was not fulfilled, unfortunately. I was sort of hoping that the baggage handlers would drop the bag and my driver would be bent/broken and that the repair would act sort of like Henry Rowengartner's arm in the 1993 classic, Rookie of the Year. As a result of the shoddy repair I would have provided, I was hoping that my drives would be straighter and longer than I could ever expected. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) the clubs flew both ways and had multiple layovers and ended up just fine. The wheels really help get through the airport easily and the actual material, though lacking a bit of cushion, provides good protection to the clubs. As a result of the clubs making it through travel with no problems, my drives remain inconsistent, as evidenced by the 100 I shot at the Wilderness at Fortune Bay upon my arrival at my destination. Oh well - TLDR: bag works great for price, doesn't help my golf game unfortunately.
At least my golf clubs survived. July 5, 2010 D (Delaware) The bag did not make it back in one piece from it's maiden voyage. The bag was ripped at the seam. I am sure the airline was not gentle, but it is a golf "travel" bag. Such handling should be expected. No refund and no word from the airline yet. The clubs made it home in good condition though. They survived to play another day...the bag did not. Hard cover will be my next purchase.
Paid for what I got July 5, 2010 Larry D. Gray (Farmington, MO USA) If you are looking for a low cost carry bag this fits the bill. It is a little awkward to handle and will not stand on its on. One thing that needs to be added is another strap at the bottom of the bag. Overall not a bad buy, just not high quality.
Great Bag for the Price March 17, 2010 C. Fitzgerald (Bay Area, California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this bag for a quick golf trip. I don't travel much with my clubs, so just needed something to add a some protection. This bag made a full round trip from California to Arizona with no problems. I'm impressed with the construction of this bag -- handles/straps/seams are well stitched and strong, padding at the top extends down far enough to protect your club heads, the main zipper is heavy duty and accommodates a lock, the bottom protection is solid, and the wheels are smooth rolling and sturdy. This is a soft bag and will not protect your clubs if they are dropped in an upright orientation with the club heads facing down (upside-down). I saw some (pricey) stabilizers on the market, but made my own by inserting a cut-off wood closet rod with a tennis ball top in the bag with my clubs. This also added a little stability to the bag when tilted for rolling. I have only minor complaints -- the bag is a little large for my stand bag (perhaps its better suited for a cart bag), and the bag could use more cinch straps (only one is included, which wraps around the shafts of your clubs). Overall, I am extremely impressed with the quality of this bag for the price ($38), and would recommend it to anyone looking for a once-in-a-while travel bag.
Does the job for the price July 2, 2009 J. J. ALWARD (Buffalo, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
To be honest, I wasn't expecting much for the price but this soft cover gets a passing grade. It arrives folded into a ridiculously small package, so small I was worried I received the wrong item. On the plus side the wheels roll well, and the bag covered my Ogio Schling bag with Taylormade R7 driver no problem. There is an adjustable strap about 18 inches from the top of the bag (below the intech logo) that will kind of hold your bag in place inside the cover, but not completely. The shoe pocket is very roomy, so much so I fit a pair of shoes and a college hard cover textbook in it. Also this cover adds almost no weight to your bag so coming in under airline weight allowances is easy. On the downside, the included lock and shoulder strap are useless (both woefully weak and flimsy), but I plan on using my own TSA approved lock and wheeling the case around so no biggie. There is no hard reinforcement to this bag anywhere save for a small section on the back-bottom where the wheels attach. Padding only exists in the top portion of the bag where your club heads would be, but its not much. Overall you're getting what you pay for, but you are getting something and not just throwing money away.
